Stoney Run Primitive Tent Camping sits on forty acres of private woodland in northwestern Pennsylvania — far enough from the nearest road that the hum of traffic is a memory, close enough to Erie that you're not committing to a cross-country trip.

We call it primitive for a reason: no water spigot at your site, no electrical pedestal, no cell service to check. Just a cleared tent pad, a fire ring, and the kind of darkness that makes the Milky Way visible without any effort.

This is camping as it was before camping was a category on Airbnb. You bring what you need. You leave what you bring. And you sleep like you haven't in years.

Groceries, gear, and gas are a short drive away in Polk or Erie. You're close enough to resupply and far enough to forget you left.

Before You Come

Come prepared.
Leave nothing behind.

Primitive means primitive. There's no water, no electricity, and no store on-site. What you bring is what you have — so pack like you're going somewhere that truly doesn't have anything.

Bring all your own water There is no potable water on site. Bring enough for drinking, cooking, and cleaning — plus extra.
Pack out everything you pack in Leave No Trace isn't a suggestion here — it's the agreement. Take all trash, food scraps, and gear with you.
Flashlights and headlamps It gets dark. Really dark. Plan your evening accordingly and bring reliable light sources.
Bug spray and sun protection Pennsylvania summer means mosquitoes. Winter means crisp air. Come ready for the season you're visiting.
